Remote beach on the South Coast Track, Tasmania. Accessed by a charter flight into Malaleuca airstrip on Macquarie Harbour. A magnificent 5-7 day hike back out to Cockle Creek, to the most southerly road in Australia. Lots of fresh drinking water along the way – creeks and streams running onto the beach. One of Australia’s icon hikes. Great campsites, a wide variety of scenery and very few other hikers.
Highly recommend this hike. 6-8 days. Forests, mountains, beaches. Untouched wilderness apart from the track. No access to this area unless small aircraft or boat.
