Where is the nearest biggish town to here?

Launceston is 48 kilometres from Ben Lomond. 20 sealed and the rest forest roads.

I’m looking for a hike – about a month in length or so. Any you suggest as a must do?

Anywhere in the world. But one criteria iIhave is water being available and not too crowded…(makes it tricky I know)
